Hello everyone! I wanted to take a moment and talk about my summer availability below which includes a small announcement as well! This year has proven uniquely challenging with our schedules which means that I have a bit less availability in general for my early summer dates. For this reason, I’ve decided to set aside an evening to plan a few mini sessions in hopes that I will be better able to fit in more clients this way! I have a flier and some more information below concerning those, so please read on! In addition to my mini sessions, I do still have a small amount of weekday evening availability in June for family or milestone sessions. Depending on a few factors, I may also have a slot or two I will open during the first half of July before I take some quiet time to focus on my family for the rest of the summer (and hang out in the air conditioning!) If you were considering a family or milestone session this summer, now would be a great time to get in touch! The next opportunity will be fall dates, which I will likely begin booking in August.

On to mini sessions – the flier below pretty much hits all the important points! My goal is to capture some beautiful summer evening light with these minis, but if Kansas throws clouds our way that evening, we will roll with the punches and make the best of that too! Important Details:
Additional fees (optional): $20+tax per additional person up to 6 total individuals. This fee includes an additional 2 images. Print/canvas purchases may be made via your online gallery at time of digital delivery.
Backup rain date for this event will be Saturday, June 18th.
Sessions will be held near my home/studio roughly 20 miles north of Manhattan, KS.
Full payment of session and signed agreement required to book your slot.

Happy Friday all! It feels a bit strange discussing Easter plans with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, but this photography business always seems to keep me one holiday ahead of the game! Due to a few scheduling conflicts, I’ve had to plan these Easter mini sessions a weekend earlier than planned, so these are coming up VERY soon! DETAILS: (Please read before contacting me to book!)
Individual session slots are priced at $139+tax and include a 20 minute session with 6 edited digital images and a print release to print up to a size of 8×10. Larger prints/canvas available to purchase after the session if desired. Images delivered via a convenient online gallery – if all goes according to plan, I intend to have all minis delivered by March 20th, 2016 (if not sooner.)
Sibling bookings available at a discount – please contact me for more information!
This event will consist of TWO setups. Each setup will book on a separate day. If booking a sibling slot, you must choose one setup/day for your sibling (discounted) session or book two separate (full priced) slots if different setups are desired. Setup details shown below.
Due to the size of my setups for this event, I am limiting these minis to children aged 6 months to 6 years. If you have a sibling just outside of this age range, please contact me, I will consider these on a case-by-case basis! These studio mini sessions are a great way to grab a few updated milestone images of your child or baby!
Location – my studio space is located 20 miles north of Manhattan, Kansas.

Setups/Dates:
Setup #1 will be available on Saturday, February 27th only. This bright, airy setup should pair well with all those sweet Easter/spring dresses, however it is not limited to little girls! Props will have a vintage/shabby feel in whites and pastels.
Setup #2 will be available on Sunday, February 28th only. Consisting of a blue tile backdrop and wood floor, this setup was definitely put together with little boys in mind, but can work well for little girls as well! Props will be in creams, tans and browns and this setup will consist of a sweet “Peter Rabbit” banner in the background (excuse my poor hand-drawing skills!)
Have a spring studio session in mind for your little one, but don’t see a setup you love here? I have several sweet floral and spring-inspired drops that may be perfect for a studio simplicity session with your child. Use the contact form to get in touch for details! I do have very limited availability left for the month of March and cannot guarantee delivery by Easter (except in the case of this mini session event.)

First of all, let me say a quick (and late) HAPPY NEW YEAR! If I’m being painfully honest, 2016 (and studio season!) has snuck up on me a bit. I wasn’t quite ready to put my thinking cap back on this week, but time marches on and mini sessions must be planned. You may remember that I hinted at a few different mini session events coming up this winter – well, now is the time to share what that means with you all! What started out as three mini session events unfortunately had to be slimmed down to two due to some scheduling issues, HOWEVER, I officially have two mini session events in the works and one is going to happen VERY SOON. So soon, in fact…that I didn’t even get time to get my setups fully fleshed out and photographed, so you’re going to have to bare with me here a bit and use your imaginations! For those serious about booking, I have pinterest inspiration boards all set up and ready to go to help with your outfit choosing! I know how difficult that process can be on short notice, so I took some time to shop around a bit and gather some inspiration and deals.

When: Sunday January 17th, 2016
Where: Sweet Pickle Pictures Studio (Located roughly 20 miles north of Manhattan, Kansas)
Who: These sessions are a great way to capture a few images of your growing child(ren) or baby with a fun theme!
That’s right folks – my first round of minis will be coming up just two weeks from today on January 17th! There will be two setups/looks offered for these (details via email) and I am looking to fill 5-6 slots that day. Siblings can be booked in at an add-on price, so if you have more than one kiddo, please contact me specifically for a price quote and breakdown on how that will work! (Add-on pricing for siblings ONLY please!) Slots will run from late morning through the afternoon. Bonus – the setups used for these minis will be available to all simplicity or full milestone sessions taking place after January 17th, so if you are unavailable the 17th, ask me about booking one of these options! My plan for turnaround time is to have minis edited and delivered by February 1st to give you time to order prints or valentines by Valentine’s Day!
If you would like to know more details about the setups and/or you are ready to book a studio mini for your child – simply use the contact form below to get in touch with me! Slots will fill on a first come, first serve basis. When you inquire, please let me know how many children you wish to have photographed and their ages – this will determine the available slots I pass along to you! These minis are available for babies and children aged 4 months and older – bearing in mind these setups are best for babies capable of sitting (independently or in a prop) up through 5 or 6 years of age due to the size and layout of the backdrops. As for my next round of studio mini sessions – while I’m not quite ready to reveal a date, I CAN tell you that those will take place during the month of March and will more than likely feature two spring/Easter themes with images back in time for Easter. Pricing and package will likely be similar to these – If you would like to be notified of the full details when those become available, I can put you on a list to email when booking goes live!
One final word (sorry, I know this is very lengthy!) – I will be doing my best to answer emails as they come in, however our family suffered a loss this week and services will be held today and Monday – it may mean I don’t get around to answering inquiries as quickly as I might otherwise as we spend time with our family. Bad timing of course – I knew I had to give my clients as much planning time of possible for these, but unfortunately that meant announcing at a very difficult and busy time for us!
Hello all! I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing Thanksgiving week! I’m going to jump right into this and apologize to clients who are still patiently waiting on their fall sessions – unfortunately fall has not been kind to us this year in the health department! We haven’t had a week without some sort of illness in our home for 4 straight weeks now. This means I’ve clocked in a lot of couch hours, whether it was being mommy to a sick kiddo, or unable to get up and around myself. To say this has made a dent in my productivity is an understatement! Fall is always a hectic pace, and unfortunately one small bump in the road tends to create a domino effect, so while I continue to work hard to get caught up, I may need a little extra patience this year. It definitely was not in my game plan to fall this behind. If I haven’t sent you a couple of images for your Christmas cards and you are still waiting on your session – let me know and I will work a couple of edits into my workflow to send along! Below is the next four sessions that I am working on. I am going to attempt to keep this section updated as well as possible, so if you’re waiting on a session feel free to bookmark this and refresh it every now and then!

Even though my life is ALL about editing right now, I am also setting aside some time to plan winter sessions! Currently I am booking studio milestones for babies and small children for the months of January through March! I also have room in my schedule for studio and lifestyle newborn sessions starting in February, so now is a good time to get in touch and get things on the books! Since I do have a little more wiggle room in my schedule this winter vs. last winter, I’m also going to flesh out an idea that has been floating around my head for a year or two. I cannot divulge full details as I need just a wee bit more time to plan things, but will be announcing more by the end of December or beginning of January and I’m super excited! Essentially what it will boil down to are themed mini sessions – and not just one, but THREE events/chances to be involved with those and get some fun updated images of your little ones in our nice warm studio this winter! These sessions will be limited and will likely be held on weekdays to keep weekends open for full bookings (and my family!) If you think this might interest you, keep an eye on my facebook page as well as here for an announcement later this year. The first round will be happening sometime in January, so I definitely intend to set aside some time to flesh things out!
In closing, I want to thank all my fall clients again – this time of year definitely requires patience, and I fully appreciate those of you who have given it to me in spades. Fall is the busiest season for those of us who focus on families and despite fully knowing the drawbacks of filling my calendar too full, it’s very hard to turn away clients who I’ve worked with for years. Every fall I take on more than what I say I will, and the more I shoot, the less time I have to catch up on the back end of this business which inevitably leads to falling behind on editing, emails and orders. Sessions have slowed down for the year, so if we can all stay healthy for a week or two, I’m hoping to make great strides in getting sessions back to you! That said, I do not rush my editing and I fully believe in giving my October and November sessions the same full attention I provide the rest of the year as this is a huge part of my work ethic. I want your session to be perfect and sometimes that means waiting just a little longer than planned, but I hope that in the end you will feel that it was worth it. I love all my clients and I want the very best hanging on your walls!
And because all posts are just better with a visual, here are some recently completed fall images I grabbed and threw together. It’s hard to believe (looking out the window as sleet is coming down) that the world looked like this just a few short weeks ago! One thing I absolutely love about opening my computer in the morning is being reminded of just how beautiful and absolutely fleeting this season can be and I love all the sunsets I have shared with you and your families not just this fall, but this whole year! Hi All! I am a little late getting this ball rolling, so I’m going to keep this as short and sweet as possible! Fall is approaching quickly! As I mentioned on my business page recently – all my regular fall availability for outdoor family sessions has filled! I am scaling back just the tiniest bit this year in an effort to not get as overwhelmed as I have in recent years with fall bookings, so slots definitely filled quicker than expected. The very last openings I have left are my two evenings of fall mini sessions, which I am going to open booking for TODAY! That’s right, I will be booking BOTH dates, so please read everything below before contacting me!
Mini Session Packages – Fall 2015
All mini sessions are priced at $185+tax
Package includes:
- 20 minute session at location of photographer’s choice (likely near my home/studio 20 minutes north of Manhattan)
- 10 fully edited digital images delivered via an online gallery 3-4 weeks after your session
- Print release to make your own personal prints up to and including size 8×10
- 15% off print/canvas orders via your gallery totaling $125 or more
How to book your mini session: (very important — please read!)
Please view the available dates and time slots below! If you see one you like, use the contact form on this site to contact me, making sure to include your family size and your top two choices for time slots (if you are open to any slot choice, you can let me know that too!) Please do not contact me through facebook! If an available slot is open, I will respond back with a booking form that will also collect your payment of the full session price. This is necessary for booking your time slot! Please submit form and payment within 12 hours or I may be forced to pass your slot onto another interested party. All sessions book on a first-come, first-serve basis! I will attempt to keep this site updated by crossing out booked/paid time slots, but I have a feeling these may book very quickly, so I cannot promise that I will keep up!
Mini Session Dates/Slots (please be certain that the applicable rain/backup date also works for your family. In the event of rain or inclement weather that may force us to reschedule, this date will be our default. Rescheduling mini sessions individually will not be possible during this busy season.)

–Will there be fall foliage?
September is a lovely month with (typically) mild temperatures and lush green grass and trees. I would not expect to see any true fall colors arriving this early! For our October date, if the leaves begin to change on the earlier side of “normal” we could possibly end up with a bit more of a fall look! Every year is different as to when our leaves begin to change and drop, so nothing is guaranteed!
